Japanese denim is known for its quality and craftsmanship. Its denim tradition is followed by all denim lovers and consider super premium by all. It is one of the few markets in the world where premium jeans sales outclass the standard and economy jeans sale.

But unfortunately, in last few years, the jeans sales are in decline, due to popularity of other bottoms such as chinos and cargos. In terms of fabric, jersey jeans are in huge demand and brands like Diesel and Edwin has further fueled this trend. All of these are indicators that Japanese consumers are more tilted towards comfort and luxury.

Edwin rules the jeans market in Japan and it also distributes wrangler and lee . Uniqlo, another fast growing brand in the world, is close second.

GSP Plus For Pakistan

Posted on Categories Blogs

The European Union has granted the Generalized Scheme of Preferences (GSP) Plus status to Pakistan in December 2013. This status is likely to increase access to the EU market through duty free imports of GSP-eligible products. The grant of the GSP Plus status is effective from January 1, 2014 & by its implementation Denim will be duty free for EU countries.

The “GSP+” enhanced preferences means full removal of tariffs on essentially the same product categories as those covered by the general arrangement. (According to European Commission/Trade). EU’s “Generalized Scheme of Preferences” (GSP) allows developing country exporters to pay lower duties on their exports to the EU. This gives them vital access to EU markets and contributes to their economic growth.
