Soorty Organic Cotton Initiative
SOCI aims to transition more than a thousand farmer-families from conventional cotton farming to organic cotton cultivation in the town of Naal, rescuing an area of more than 10,000 acres (or 4,000 hectares) from conventional farming.
The project produced its first organic cotton bale certified by the Control Union and validated by the Organic Cotton Accelerator in 2022.
The project also helps the community and farmer-families through a dedicated Rural Women Empowerment & Entrepreneurship Initiative launched in partnership with DOCH.
We aim to train and provide decent-income access to over a hundred Balochi women, every year.
