Groasis Waterboxx®: Greening Deserts with Innovation
In 2018, Soorty partnered with GROASIS to implement their patented WaterBoxx® technology. This cutting-edge solution is designed to combat aridification and reclaim desert land, enabling plants to thrive without the need for watering for up to a year!
Our project is planned to unfold in three phases: testing the technology’s adaptability to Pakistani climates, creating urban forests within government parks, and embarking on a massive mass-plantation effort in the expansive Thar Desert, covering approximately 200,000 km². Beyond reforestation, our mission aims to improve lives, reduce carbon footprints, and combat climate change.
Preserving Karachi's Mangroves with WWF
Karachi’s mangrove plantations face grave threats from pollution and the growing impact of climate change. In collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Soorty regularly undertakes Mangrove Plantation Drives to safeguard these vital ecosystems. Our Soorty team, united in purpose, visits the WWF Wetland Center along Karachi’s coastline to plant seeds and saplings, working together to protect and preserve natural vegetation.
