Planet PAWSitive: A Compassionate Planet for All
Empress Market Veterinary Camps
In partnership with ACF Animal Rescue, Soorty launched the first phase of our Planet PAWSitive campaign at Karachi’s Empress Market. These camps focused on sensitizing and educating pet shop owners about animal welfare while providing regular and free medical check-ups for animals sold in the markets. Over the course of eight camps, we aimed to alleviate the suffering of these voiceless creatures.
Equine Medical Camps
Following the success at Empress Market, we initiated the second phase of the Planet PAWSitive campaign, conducting veterinary camps for abused and injured donkeys and other equines in the Korangi district. These camps targeted donkey cart owners who used rough materials to make the animal harnesses, causing wounds and infections. Over three months, we conducted 12 rescue camps reaching out to hundreds of donkey cart owners, providing medical treatment and educating cart owners on proper handling. Soorty also donated denim cuttings to create gentler harnesses that do not harm the animals’ skin.
Supporting Animal Welfare Organizations
Continuing our partnership with ACF Animal Rescue under the Planet PAWSitive campaign, Soorty sponsored and hosted activities at the ACF Sunset Picnic, a fundraiser for the animal shelter. We organized a Kids Corner featuring games, arts and crafts, and a reading corner with renowned storyteller Ms. Sania Saeed. All proceeds from the event were dedicated to supporting the cause of animal welfare in Pakistan.
