To mark World Water Day 2025, Soorty hosted an awareness session bringing together voices from academia, government, industry, and the next generation of changemakers. The event focused on the critical role of water in sustainable development and the need for shared responsibility in addressing water-related challenges.
Dr. Waqar Ahmed from the University of Karachi spoke on the role of mangroves and coastal ecosystems in enhancing climate resilience and conserving water resources. Muhammad Imran Sabir, Director of SEPA, stressed the importance of environmental policy in sustainable water governance. Soorty’s sustainability team highlighted the role industries must play in managing water responsibly across their operations. The session also featured student-led projects from the Textile Institute of Pakistan, showcasing creative solutions around water scarcity, glacier preservation, and climate change.
