Soorty carried out its annual Breast Cancer Eradication Campaign throughout October, with a focus on education, prevention, and early detection. Awareness sessions were held across various units in collaboration with Dow University of Health Sciences, covering key topics such as regular screenings, self-examination techniques, and the importance of early intervention. Where needed, the campaign also supports access to follow-up care, including treatment and surgical support.

Extending beyond the workplace, the campaign included an outreach session conducted in partnership with Patel Hospital and AIMS Institutes at Khatoon-e-Pakistan Government Girls School. The session introduced students to essential information on breast health and early awareness, with the aim of fostering long-term health literacy in the community. Through these combined efforts, Soorty continues to support preventive healthcare practices both within the organization and in the broader community.

Soorty had the opportunity to host representatives from the Balochistan Government’s Agricultural Extension Department and WWF Pakistan at our facility, in recognition of the newly announced Organic Cotton Policy for the province. This policy represents a major step forward for sustainable agriculture in Pakistan, supporting non-GMO seed use, increased access to bio-inputs, and environmentally responsible farming practices.

The policy aligns closely with ongoing efforts under the Soorty Organic Cotton Initiative (SOCI), reinforcing our commitment to improving soil health, reducing environmental impact, and supporting organic cotton farmers. With improved market linkages and policy support, farmers will be better positioned to scale production and strengthen their livelihoods

For the 2023 and 2024 (up to August) assessment periods, Unit 10 and Unit 7 have been included in MANGO’s official supplier ranking for Pakistan. Unit 10 achieved 1st place, while Unit 7 secured 4th among the Top 5 Quality Performers. This recognition reflects the outcomes of our internal quality management processes and the collective efforts of our production teams.

On World Cotton Day, Soorty Enterprises marked a significant milestone in its regenerative agriculture journey with the first harvest bale from the Soorty Regenagri Initiative (SRI) in Bahawalpur, Pakistan. Cultivated using regenerative practices, this bale reflects ongoing efforts to build a cotton supply chain that prioritizes soil health, biodiversity, and farmer well-being.

In collaboration with REEDS Pakistan, the SRI project focuses on reducing environmental impact while improving livelihoods through responsible farming methods.

Soorty Enterprises hosted the 16th Town Hall of Net-Zero Pakistan – an initiative by the Pakistan Environment Trust on Wednesday, October 2nd, in Karachi. The session, titled “Navigating Through SBTi Challenges and Celebrating Success,” brought together industry experts and sustainability leaders to share practical strategies and case studies on transitioning to Net-Zero.

Designed for Sustainability and Compliance Teams, the event offered a platform to explore real-world solutions, exchange insights, and engage with peers across industries. Open to both member companies and those beginning their Net-Zero journey, the Town Hall provided a valuable opportunity for learning and collaboration within Pakistan’s growing climate action network.
